In recent years, locusts have increasingly caused damage to apple trees, prompting the need for effective and environmentally friendly pest control methods. To evaluate the efficacy of a 0.3% compound matrine aqueous solution against aphids, we conducted field trials over the past two years, from May to July. The treatment was applied three times consecutively to assess its impact on aphid populations.
The results showed that the 0.3% compound matrine solution, when diluted at 800, 1500, and 2000 times, demonstrated excellent control effects. Even 21 days after application, the average control rate of each treatment remained above 95%, indicating strong and lasting performance. Additionally, the solution is not only highly effective but also low in toxicity, making it suitable for use in green fruit production. This makes it a promising alternative to conventional chemical pesticides, supporting sustainable agricultural practices while ensuring crop safety and quality.
