1. Before using the shelling machine, always perform a thorough inspection. Check that all fasteners are securely tightened, that the rotating parts move smoothly, and that each bearing is properly lubricated. Ensure the machine is placed on a flat and stable surface. For safety, make sure the motor's outer casing is correctly grounded to prevent electrical hazards.
2. Prior to powering the machine, manually turn it several times to check for any unusual noises or resistance. If you hear a knocking or grinding sound, stop immediately and investigate the cause before reapplying power. This step helps avoid potential damage to the machine or injury to the operator.
3. Once the power is turned on, start the machine and observe the rotor’s rotation direction. It should match the direction indicated on the machine. Allow the machine to run idle for a few minutes, listening for any abnormal sounds. If everything runs smoothly and steadily, you can begin feeding peanuts into the hopper in a controlled and even manner.
4. The moisture content of the peanuts plays a crucial role in the shelling process. Peanuts that are too dry may break easily, while those that are too wet may slow down the shelling process. In winter, when peanuts tend to be drier, you can increase their moisture by sprinkling 15 kg of warm water over 100 kg of peanuts, covering them with plastic film for about 10 hours, and then drying them in the sun. In other seasons, the same method takes around 6 hours. After this treatment, the shelling process will be more efficient.
5. When feeding peanuts into the machine, ensure they are added evenly and in moderate amounts. Never allow foreign objects like metal or stones to enter, as they can damage the machine or cause serious accidents. Once the screen is covered with peanuts, you may open the outlet switch to begin the shelling process.
6. Choose the appropriate sieve size based on the size of the peanuts you are processing. This ensures better efficiency and reduces the chance of clogging or incomplete shelling.
7. To improve the shelling performance, adjust the motor position to tighten the fan belt, which increases the speed of the shelling mechanism. This adjustment can help achieve a higher throughput and better results.
8. After use, clean the machine thoroughly by removing dust, dirt, and debris from all surfaces. Use diesel oil to clean the bearings and apply grease after drying. Repaint any exposed metal parts to prevent rust. Once everything is dry, cover the machine and store it in a dry, well-ventilated warehouse. Remove the belt and hang it on a shaded interior wall to avoid direct sunlight exposure.
