“We tend to focus so much on the things that seem impossible instead of celebrating the ones that are within reach. It's easy to get caught up in what still needs to be done and overlook how far we've come.” ~Marian Wright Edelman

Over the past few days, I’ve learned the delicate balance between keeping pace with life’s demands and knowing when to step back. There have been moments when I’ve had to take a deep breath and slow down, recognizing the importance of pausing. Other times, though, required me to push forward with renewed energy. It’s a dance—figuring out when to embrace opportunities and when to politely decline them for the sake of my family.

This week has been particularly special as we welcomed loved ones from Michigan into our home. The air smells crisp, filled with the aroma of fresh pine cones we collected during our walks through the nearby woods. My Florida kids, bundled up in sweaters, found joy on the beach despite the chilly breeze, while their northern cousins explored the shoreline with wide-eyed wonder. These are the moments I cherish most—simple yet profound connections made through shared experiences.

Sometimes saying "no" is just as important as saying "yes." Recently, there have been instances where turning something down felt like the right choice for us. Extra helpings of turkey and stuffing? Absolutely! But an extra slice of pie? Well, maybe not today—I'll probably stick to one piece, though my sweet tooth disagrees.

As the evening winds down, I sit here surrounded by the soft snores of cousins who’ll wake tomorrow eager to continue their playful banter. Life feels rich with gratitude—gratitude for family, friends, and the simple joys that fill our days. And I want to extend my thanks to you, too. Your presence here means the world.

The kitchen hums with anticipation as I prepare for tomorrow's feast. Napkins are neatly folded, counters gleam with ingredients ready to transform into hearty meals, and serving dishes wait patiently for their roles. Everything is set, but it’s not just about the food—it’s about creating memories and fostering deeper bonds. This season reminds me to savor every moment, big or small.

Dear friends, may your Thanksgiving bring warmth, laughter, and plenty of love. Remember to celebrate the possibilities ahead, even amidst challenges. You deserve to pause and reflect on all you’ve achieved this year.
