Goose common finishing techniques

Grazing fattening method

Grazing fattening is the most economical method of fattening and is widely used in rural areas. Mainly use the residues of residual wheat and stubble after harvest to fatten. Grazing and fattening must fully grasp the harvest season of local crops, brooding in advance, and formulate plans for grazing and fattening. For example, from early barley to wheat fields, the geese have already been fattened and can be sold as soon as the grazing in the past has been completed. After the end of the grazing, it is necessary to use a large amount of concentrate to maintain the fat, otherwise the geese will fall out. This is also the case with paddy field grazing.

Feeding fattening

Feeding and finishing methods are more suitable for short-term fattening by food acquisition departments, specialized households and traffickers. It is carried out in dimly lit houses to limit the movement of geese and feed on grain or tuber-rich feeds rich in carbohydrates. It is fed 3 to 4 times a day to rapidly deposit body fat while providing sufficient water to increase appetite and help. Digestion can be slaughtered after about half a month.

Filling and fattening

The method of filling geese is similar to feeding ducks. This method can shorten the fattening period and has a good fattening effect, but it is troublesome. Filling and fattening method is divided into manual filling method and machine filling method. Hand-filling method, lion-head goose fattening use more, the powder (preferably corn flour) wet mixed into a strip of food groups, and then steamed a little, so that it has a certain degree of hardness, using a mandatory method Put the bolus into the goose's esophagus and fill it 3 or 4 times a day. After filling, place it in a quiet place to rest. After about 10 days of feeding, body fat will increase, and the meat will be tender and delicious. The machine filling method does not use corn flour, but soaks the expanded corn kernels, soaks the corn in water first (water dissolves in 1% to 1.5% of the amount of corn) and cooks it before filling. Remove from heat, mix in fats and additives and feed.
