The flowers are yellow and highly fragrant, appearing in dense clusters. They have lanceolate sepals that are about 3 cm long, and the calyx is tubular with dense hair on the outside. The petals are petal-like in appearance. The fruit is ovate and usually enclosed at the base of the perianth.

Flowering occurs from March to April, and the fruits mature by August.
