What do these two have in common?
The Giraffe Encounter at the Zoo, of course! And yes, that’s the answer to the riddle I just posed.
This is Honey the Giraffe.
Actually, I don’t know her official name, but Honey seems fitting. She’s got this sweet, gentle demeanor, and her caramel-colored coat is just so inviting—like a warm hug on a cold day. I almost want to call her Caramel instead, but Honey suits her well.
Honey the Giraffe—it has a nice ring to it.
This is Honey asking for a cracker. She sticks out her long, prehensile tongue and carefully guides it toward the snack in my hand. It’s adorable, really. Watching her interact feels like watching a graceful dance.
I thought she’d leave my fingers soggy after licking the cracker clean, but surprisingly, her tongue was quite dry. No sticky messes here!
We spent a delightful hour with Honey. She was so curious and engaging, and I found myself wishing she’d stay longer. But, alas, my invitation to join us didn’t seem to cut it. Next time, I’ll come prepared with a bigger bucket of snacks—or maybe even a leafy branch to keep her entertained.
Until next time, take care—and don’t forget to visit the giraffes at your local zoo. They’re truly unforgettable.
