Biogas fermentation is highly sensitive to temperature, making it one of the most critical factors in the production process. At lower temperatures, the gas output tends to be stable but limited, while higher temperatures can significantly boost gas yield. However, maintaining optimal temperatures for efficient biogas production can be challenging, especially when dealing with low-temperature environments. To address this issue, specialized biogas fermentation agents like Gembio Biogas Fermentation Agents can be used as effective inoculants. These agents contain over 300 bacterial species and more than 200 million anaerobic bacteria per liter, with about 50% being strictly anaerobic.
These microorganisms have an impressive reproduction rate, capable of multiplying through tens or even hundreds of generations within a minute under favorable conditions. This rapid growth accelerates the breakdown of organic materials, leading to a much faster gas production rate. When using Gembio’s agent as an inoculant, biogas can begin to form within three to five days, and large-scale gas production can be achieved by day seven—up to ten times faster than with traditional inoculants.
Additionally, the use of such advanced agents helps reduce gas loss during the fermentation process outside the digester, improving the overall efficiency of biogas production. By combining the fermentation agent with an adsorbent material, the contact area between bacteria and raw materials increases, enhancing the efficiency of the microbial activity. The adsorption process itself is exothermic, generating additional heat that supports methanogen activity and helps raise the internal temperature of the biogas digester. This combination not only speeds up the process but also improves the stability and yield of biogas production.
