Ozone application in the food industry

(1) Air sterilization in the production workshop:

Microbial contamination in the production workshop is a very important factor affecting product quality. Ozone can not only effectively kill them, but also effectively remove the smell of the workshop. Since the water source is increasingly polluted by organic chemical products, the chlorine preparation will produce chlorinated organic substances such as chloroform, dichloroethane and carbon tetrachloride. These substances are carcinogenic and thus EU countries. The use of chlorine series long-acting disinfectants has been banned and will be phased out in Japan. The ozone disinfection treatment does not produce secondary pollution compounds, and the bacteria are easily killed. At present, some food companies that use pasteurization, but pursue the appearance of food, are trying to use ozone disinfection instead of pasteurization.

(4) Preparing high-concentration ozone water as a new disinfectant:

Dissolve high concentrations of ozone in water. The ozone water produced has a strong broad-spectrum bactericidal effect and has a strong degradation effect on various pesticides, organic poisons and heavy metal ions. The high concentration of ozone water is re-sterilized and degraded by other harmful substances to become oxygen, leaving no residue in the water, no secondary pollution and any side effects.

(5), food cold storage and fresh storage cold storage disinfection:

The biological sources of cold storage are mainly molds, which are highly resistant to chemical disinfectants and survive under low temperature conditions. Experiments have shown that the use of ozone with a concentration of 6-120 PPM for 3-4 hours of disinfection can kill unbleached spores including extremely strong resistance. After the shutdown, the disinfection of the cold storage is arranged in about 3 days before the purchase. The application of ozone in food preservation can play the role of sterilization and mildew and slow down metabolism, and can be used in combination with refrigeration, air conditioning and packaging to improve the preservation effect of food.
